DESCRIPTION: The City of Milwaukie, population 20,850, is located along the scenic Willamette River in Oregon's lush Willamette Valley. Milwaukie offers small town living with easy access to the amenities of metropolitan Portland. Incorporated in 1903, the City of Milwaukie is governed by a five member City Council and Mayor. The City Manager is the City's chief administrative officer and is responsible for seeing that the City Council's goals and policies are effectively and efficiently implemented. Milwaukie has 125 fulltime employees and a current operating budget of $53 million.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, or related field; and at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government, including five years of administrative or supervisory responsibility is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted as long as it provides the desired skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
